Wasteful production, low wages, and unsafe conditions are the grease that keeps the fast fashion machine churning, with devastating consequences for the environment and people involved.

Shopping ethically makes my life more difficult.. why should I bother?

Whether we like to admit it or not, we all have some sort of understanding that most of the clothes we buy are made in far away nations by people who are forced to submit to a standard of living that is much less than most of us could bare. In fact, many factories producing some of our most well known brands employ people in conditions that would be described as modern day slavery. At My New Neighbour we believe that our neighbours around the world do not need to suffer for our consumption. We believe that there is a way to shop that not only avoids harming others, but actually helps others. We accept the responsibility that every dollar we spend is a vote for the kind of world we want to live in and we want to figure out how to spend those dollars accordingly.
